Most Defender 90s imported to North America came equipped with a removeable, full coverage, canvas top. Many other types of canvas tops are available, providing various degrees of coverage. Surrey tops are like a flat sheet covering the top of the safety cage from front to rear. A bikini top is like a Surrey top that covers only the front seats. A Bimini top goes over the front seats, then slopes downward toward the rear of the vehicle. Specialized tops that proveide a truck-cab shape behind the front seats, as well as toneau covers for the loadspace area are also available. A fiberglass hard top was also available as an accessory from Land Rover, and the Station Wagon model came equipped with a full aluminum bodywork roof.
