[From various posters.... Ed.]
Rover X has steel lugs for I think $6 each. I just bought steel
wheels from them and I believe that was the price for lugs.
Gulf Coast has an even better deal on them for $3.00

Lugs for steel wheels can be had for about $1/each. Give British Pacific a call.

Late reply.
All our wheel studs are:
16mm, 1.5 pitch.
They use an 82 degree countersink wheel and nut.
Wrench is 1 1/16" 6-point for the alloys or steel.

The stock wheels have something like 5.67" of back spacing. I actually
measured my stock rims at just under 5.5". IMO the rims you are considering
have no benefit over the stock rims. The size you have found is almost the
same as the stock rims and 15" tires that fit those rims are not very common
in the d90 size. If you are look for a way to get cheaper tires go with
255/85/r16 for a slightly taller than stock or 235/85/r16 for a slightly
narrower than stock. Most everyone that switches to 15" rims goes with
15"x8" with between 4" to 4.75" backspacing. And then run a 33 or 35"
tire(which may require a lift). Gulf coast rovers has 15x8 for 55.00 ea.

(on Jeff Gauvin's D90)
The size is 15x8, 4 7/8 inch backspacing, 5 on 6.5 lug pattern. Design is 10-hole "modular". I got them through Discount Tire, but they are a special order item. They are manufactured by Unique Wheels. Took almost one month exactly to get. By now Unique should have built enough of these that they'll know what you want -- tell your favorite local tire dealer to call Unique and repeat "Land Rover" over and over again.
Or call "Jay" at the Colo Spgs Discount (N. Academy & Dublin) or the "Todd" mentioned in Chuque's web page. I was charged $50 each plus shipping, but I suspect that was only because I was stupid enough to tell 'em that's what others were being charged. Steel wheels usually cost about $30 for off-the-shelf models; I bet I could have got these for $40 - $45.
You will need new lug nuts. LR Series III nuts work great and sell for just under a buck each.

Subject: RE: [D90] RE: Tire and wheel thoughts
Hey there, here's some more tire and wheel info. When I went to the ECR
wheels and 12.5" wide tires, each tire stuck out precisely 3" farther than
stock MTs on stock alloys. 1 less inch of backspacing, 1 more inch of rim
width and 2 more inches of tire width (1 on each side). I did not have to
adjust my bumpstops at all with this arrangement. PS, the 8" ECR wheels
actually measure 8.75" in width.
Cheers,
TB
