was curios, i've asked a couple forums and recieved a couple responses, I have a 90 with ARB front, Rear, GBR front axel, RT rear axel, OME 2.5 lift, 35's, and 4.10 gears on my 90 currently. Has anyone had or installed the 3link safari guard 3 link addition to the suspension. I wanted to know what springs, and shocks you went with and how was the results on the street. I had something simliar done to my old DII which i no longer own which was terrifying to drive on the freeway in LA, which is why i sold it .

Anthony-

I have a SG Stage 3/FOX shocks installed w/ the 3-link on my 97 SW. I went with Rovertym springs instead of the OME & 1/2" lift blocks that SG supplied. I am running 315 (35") BFG MTs on stock alloys with wheel spacers. I also have a Currie Anti-Sway bar installed on the rear to help out. The ride is pretty good, but it still sways a bit if you have to make a quick turn. I have debated going wiht aftermarket rims to widen the stance a bit, but really like the way the stock alloys look. IMHO, the 3-Link works very well off-road, but is marginal on road. I have really adjusted my driving style to compensate for it.

Hi guys, the three link we use i believe is simular to the SG version, ours handles better than stock, but we spent the best part of a day setting it up as everything is adjustable, e use +2 OME springs with inch spacer blocks underneath, adjustable panard rod to move the axle back in line...

I was taliking to one of our US customers today who was convinced that in the US 3link vehicle have a restricted speed limit applied to them as they are considered dangerous on the road ? Is this true or not ?

I don't know if it is technically true or not, but what cop is going to a)know it is illegal b)know what to look for & c)climb under your truck to check?

Plus at worst (in IL anyway) it would probably just be a compliance ticket that all you would have to do to get it dismissed is show them a receipt for removal and they drop the fine.

Either way, I wouldn't loose any sleep over it.

I don`t think it`s a legality issue so much as a safety issue. Face it, nobody is going to know until something happens.

My truck runs great with the setup I have.. RYM springs and no sway bars at all... 75mph all day long.. I am running 15x8 with 4" backspace rims though. Wider stance

+ one

I run a 3 link daily. Cross country highway, on the trail and I love it. No issues, no problems.

Most states do not regulate suspension design changes, just ride heights and such.

Quick Hi-Jack. A buddy of mine has a 3 link he may sell me... Do I have to relocate my shocks from the standard factory location? Is it something I can do at a later date? Also, it was off a disco 1. The cross member lines up to mine, and it looks the same and looks like it would work. Any thoughts?

In case you need it: I have about a 4" lift, OME with 2" spacers, Rancho Ajustable Air shocks, (Rockware set up) and both GBR HD DC Driver shafts, ARB's and 4.11's, GBR HD axels 's in the Rear and CV Unlimited up front.

The defender frame is about 1" talller making the crossmember not an ideal fit. I could be modified to fit, but it is not a direct fit.

Maybe... probably... You could easily make one. It is pretty simple and straight forward. I am planning on augmenting it slightly to make it work.

Are you going to Uwharrie next week?

I'm finally giving in, and going to install the 3link. I am trying to figure out the right shock lenth though. FYI i have no problem cutting the front fenders, although they have saved me oh so much damage to the side of my truck against big rocks. Currently i am running 35x12 procomps with 4 1/4 backspacing on 15in wheels on 3in RTE springs with 7100 bilstiens. I am planing on moving the shock outside the shock mount and try and go with a longer shock. Questions i have are how long should i really go without restricting the front. Also I currently, have rte springs, on there shockmounts. There not much selection on mounts for moving the shock outside the spring mount, other than SG or fabing something up and wondering if it's going to hold up on a one off. If someone knows an UHH cheaper way to acomplish this please do tell. Or am i just wrong on the moving the shocks outside the existing mount buying any extended travel?

Keith has some cool mounts I have his on the 110 & they work well. They keep the shock on the inside but youll still have to cut the fender well.
I have 2.5 =3 inch lift with 7100 12'' short bodys no disslo [1/4] but my springs are SR progressive.
I would call Keith & he will point you in the right direction.....

Are there any vendors in the US selling a 3-link setup for the D90 OTHER THAN safari gard?
