Which bumper??

Sounds like superwinch is the way to go based on previous threads... but....what to mount it on?? What is the popular opinion for aftermarket bumpers?

Any restrictions with certain winches fitting into certain bumpers?

Depends on how much room there is in the tray. My SG bumper was actually made for a Husky and when I put the Warn XD9000 in it, I had to trim 1/4 inch (if that) off a side lip that was touching one of the housing bolt heads. Other than that, it's in there good.

Rockware. Got mine in January. I'm waiting to install my xd9000i untill I get my new rope for it. Easy mounting to the truck and looks good too.

I realize eveyone has his preference but you must admit, the Huskey specs are pretty unbeatable for an electric. And I don't want to dismiss one's opinion in real use over another's

So, let's see...Bill Burke uses a Superwinch S9 on an ARB - at least that's what his bio here says. I've emailed him on his recommended winch and no reply yet. If I am to go on blind faith I would think his opinion is more than good enough.

Now, if I can only compare that to what's currently available in Superwinch (S9000) I'm almost there.

if you want reliability and speed ... Warn 8274 with the rockware bumper. if you don't care about speed & just want reliability and more pull power, then Husky & rockware bumper.

stay away from the planetarys ... brakes can fail & they can burn up rope.

any other bumper is going to bend .. especially if you end up rockcrawling .... go with something box steel ... ie Rockware
