We saw a bunch of defenders 90 and 110 down there. All the goverment vehicles were Land Rovers and tractors. Here is a picture of the water works truck.

That is a 110 Defender, goverment vehicle. We stayed two nights in St. Kitts. I think we were anchored in Major Bay, closest to Nevis.
I hope you vistied the fort there. That was incredbile!

My bad.. I was thinking of St. Barts. Much smaller island but we did hit Kitt on the same trip. We didnt make it to the fort. We were only there one day and really only were in town.

I spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica last year kayaking. We rented a Toyata Hilux. But every time you turn a corner down there you see a Rover. Mostly Series trucks but a few 110's and 90's. All the Series trucks have very odd paint jobs, colored roof tops white sides and colored bodies. Very differant from what we are used to seeing. Most are very well maintained and very Pep-Boyzed Out i.e. lots of chrome and door ding trim and any other doo-dadd they can fit on it. We ran into a group of kayakers who flew down and bought a old Range Rover used it for a few months and then sold it before coming home. I think they ended up taking it in the $horts on that one. Anyway if you want to see lots of rovers and visit a beutiful country, go to Costa Rica.
