03 HSE is the wife's ride. My daily driver is an 03 Disco. Since everytime I go near it, he has to go along, I guess the D90 is my dog's.

sorry for the hi-jack...replaced the tranny at 42kish along with CVs, just got it back from the dealer for two front wheel bearings and a leaking front airbag on the suspension. Three other buddies I know have had CVs done under 50k too, one had a transmission also. Great fun car, but I wouldn't own one out of warranty.

Does your wife drive it like she stole it? :)
I've been test driving few for a family hauler but only in 6 speed, no autos. I assume yours and your buddy's are auto's right?

Back to the original post. I do not have GF or wife but the last girl I dated for a short time has a Rubi unlimited that is built. The chick is also hot but in a very short time I found out that she is crazy. The current one has Toy Taco.

Wife had 03 disco. We now have 7 month old twins. Got her a 06 Denali XL. Gave the disco to my mother to use as a second car i.e. riding the twins around. Mom's dd is a Bug Convertable. Wife now wants the disco back ASAP. I'm trying real hard to keep everyone happy. Meanwhile I struggle to find extra bucks for the 90. Oh well!!

Not feeling the love? All of my Rovers now live indoors, while the DD's sit in the driveway exposed to the elements.

Yeah, but the smartest thigs you'll ever do is buy your wife the car SHE wants. It leavse you free to do whatever you want to the Defender, or anything else you own.

Thanks, he is 36" at hips, and 48" at head so he is a tall boy, he only weighs about 140lbs. He is getting kind of old now, he turned 7 last month, he had IBS, and a blown out acl this year.

My friend has two, and he also calls the male dummie :) They are great dogs but huge though. His first one lasted 4 years only. His male is over 150 lbs now.

draaronr
January 8th, 2007, 10:59 AM
They aren't the dumbest dogs, but they are so big that when they do stupid stuff it is more noticeable. They are timid by nature, and they want to please you constantly which causes them to get in the way alot. I love him to death, and he is great to cuddle on the living room floor because he tries to get as close as possible. I swear the dog wishes he was 20lbs so he could curl up on your lap. He is great with the kids also, they jump all over him and he just takes it. the worst thing about him is all the dumb comments you get when you take him somewhere.

Yes! Finally someone who brings the truf!

We got my wife an '05 Passat TDI wagon, factory order. Just what she wanted. She got tired of the ICM modules failing on the RRC's. :angry

Yeah, but the smartest thigs you'll ever do is buy your wife the car SHE wants. It leavse you free to do whatever you want to the Defender, or anything else you own.And THAT is advice that can be taken to the bank. Took Mrs. Emerson00 to the BMW dealership and (praying and crossing fingers for reason) told her to buy what she wanted. She chose a beautiful little 325ci and still loves it... that it was in the bottom 20% of costs on that lot, I'd say she was reasonable.

Within 6 months she'd agreed to a Ducati and now a Rover.

Follow-up Post:

And that is a beautiful Dane. We've got an 11 year old who will turn 12 next month. She's fast showing signs of aging (bladder, hips, general grumpiness), but is, aside from the grumpiness towards our smaller female, the sweetest, most gentle creature God ever created. We adopted her when she was near death at 8, to give her a good home for a couple months at best... little did we know she'd stick around to enjoy living in the lap of luxury (not materially, but she's simply pampered).

We have a dane-lab mix. He's the happiest, goofiest, most strange little 135lb dude I've ever known. And, to cuddling... I've woken up with hsi front paw around my chest with him just snoring away in my ear. The first time I woke up like that I laughed isntantly... poor Teddy jumped and fell on the floor.

So far we've adopted 3 from the MAGDRL. All great dogs, all their own quirks. We'll have a water-loving dog next, simply because of our own lifestyle, but the Great Dane truly is a wonderful dog. There's nothing quite like them.
