there are the 3 dealers, there is sir foss, there are a handful of private guys..

I think Sirfoss is right up near you in Loveland.

general service check items...

- running diagnostics
- fluid levels, lines, hoses, brakes (routine maint.)
- compression testing

etc...

by reputation, does any particular shop stand out?
are the labor rates relatively standard?

i'm just looking to the local experienced D90 owners for their input.

thanks,
-Chuck

I know a lot of the people personally at the dealer in Superior, Land Rover Flatirons, and I trust them. If you are not going to do it yourself, at least it will get done right. Why do you want a compression test?

You can always try one of the independents--I have not heard great things about alot of them locally, though.

You might try and hook up with some locals--there are quite alot of them in the Boulder/Denver area--you could even pay many of them in beer to show you how to do it in the future--since you are driving a D90, the future comes more often than a lot of trucks! ;-)

Ron Pedersen of AutoTecnica in Nederland is pretty good. I'd give you his number, but its at work. I don't know if Sifoss is the same guy ... but there is someone up near Loveland that used to work for RoversNorth that's supposed to really know their stuff, too.

I have met Michael Searfoss of Sirfoss, he flagged me down one day all excited to see my D90 pickup, anyway after talking for a while he mention that he used to work for Rover North with Charlie H so maybe this is the same person that you are thinking of Troy.

I have no idea about the quality of his work, one person that I talked to raved about how good of work he did for them on their Series restoration, but I have never used them personally so I can not comment on the quality of work, I have been meaning to ask Charlie H about them next time I see him because it sure would be easier to use Sirfoss since I work just down the street from them.
