I am looking for a toolbox that will fit behind the center console in the tub between the two fenderwells (shown in orange in the diagram below). Does anyone know where I can find one that fits?

Unfortunately, I can't give up the space on the top of fenderwells for one of Troy's boxes.

Thanks.

I have a Pelican 1660 that I've tied down in the back behind the seats. Someday I'll use my spare set of hoodpins I have to more securly attach it to the truck.

I have one in that space that I got from 4x4 connection several years ago, you could give them a call, they were having them made.

good luck,

Tuffy makes one. You can get the slideg pull-out drawer of a vertically opening box.

One of my 32" long boxes will fit in there but will not take up all the space side to side. At one time I used a heavy duty plastic type box there from Walmart of all places. It was more like a lareg tool box with a hinged top.

I also have 19" long boxes to that would not take up the entrie length of the fender well.

$24 at Lowes, and a few hours in the garage with some square tube and a MIG welder.

Dan, i have a UWS Footlocker diamond plated storage box for sale if you want it. i will give you a good price for it. I had it posted on here but nobody wanted it. It fits perfectly between the fenderwells. I would keep it but i got a backseat now and it take up to much room. here are some photos

Thanks for all the replies.

I took the jump seats out of the back for my ridgebacks. They love to stand on the fenderwells and poke their heads out the windows etc, so I don't want to deprive them of the space by mounting something up there. I also want to keep the majority of the cargo area clear, but need a small storage box (that I can mount to the tub) for recovery gear, etc.

The closest thing I have found is the TUFFY (http://www.4by4connection.com/supsecstortr.html) box David mentioned, but it is a little too tall and not quite wide enough.

Troy - Your boxes look top notch, but not exactly what I need. Ideally I would like to have something the same width as the tub (approx. 36" wide) and the same height as the fenderwells (approx. 9") so it would be flush with the top of the fender well.

Anthony - Does the box you have from 4x4 connection sound like what I am describing?

Daniel - Your footlocker looks nice, but I am not a big fan of diamond plate... thanks though.

Cheers!

If you can't find a stock item and want to go custom - then you might want to try Crow River Fab. These guys will make anything you need http://www.customdogtrailers.com/
The drawer on their website in the D90 is the one they built for me. I felt their prices were very fair and turn around time was quick.

Probably MUCH larger than what you need, but I have a Knaack Jobmaster 32 I found in the scrap pile at work that I am going to slightly customize to go in the location you have described. It is BIG and HEAVY, but nearly indestrucatble and lockable.

I just (yesterday) brought an electrical box home from the shop and plan to mount it to my floor in the truck. It's waterproof, lightweight, and lockable. You could stand on it in a pinch no problem. I'm guessing someone makes something that'll fit. I'll look around on some websites and see what I can find.
