For some reason I can not remember how to wire the starter. After replacing the brushes a while ago... It is the Bosch model. Here is where I am at... (check the little diagram)... I can not remember where the big leads go, if the third black lead is a ground or if it goes with the others, or even .... the small red one is obvious because it slides onto a post...I think I lost the little (thin nut) that goes on one of the posts... (I feel like I am taking crazy pills here)
Thanks in advance for any help.:confused

Crawling under my 90 now.........

Uh-oh. I have a MeanGreen so its a little different looking.

I know the little one goes on the slide on post. The wire attached to the starter (the one in the pic) goes to one post, all the other wires (three of them) go to the other post. It picks up ground through the bolts holding it on.

Thanks so much... So that black wire isn't a ground (tricky....
Well, it is going to be a bit warmer tomorrow so I think I will do it then. I am kind of interested in finding out why there has to be 4 wires going to a starter? But as long as it works...
Thanks again!

If it doesn't work let me know and I can tell you how to use an Meter to figure out the wires should be hooked up.

You were right on with the wiring. The newly rebuilt starter works good as new. Thanks so much for the help.
