A guy I know said they paid $65k for the truck. Guess there wasn't as much interest in it as they thought there would be.

Hey Martin, I have the Polo pic of your 90 framed and on my office wall. It was so good to see that the famous "Polo 90" was here on the site. Mine was used for a mailer for Belk department store, but I don't think we're quite up to your level yet!
Cheers, Burke

Why does ebay list the rover as a 95?

Hey Burke
that is cool that you have my truck framed, your pic is cool, mine was just the truck, if you check on the expedition exchange site under my name, john lee put the other polo ads it was used in.
I like your truck ad, is that recent? I have another ad coming out in the next few months for nautica too. Should be soon considering its a spring ad. Did you get any royalty for them using your truck?

Martin, yes I got a small $50 "model fee". My wife works with corporate, and I have a buddy in advertising there, he was the one who suggested using it. How do all these companies find you? My same buddy who works in advertising with Belk has a Ferrari 308. He has it listed on a website that searches for movie cars. Anything like that? I will look forward to seeing yours again!

burke-
the polo ad was luck, i work in sales at rover, one morning there was a sales call and the guy on the other end asked if we had any used defenders on the lot. The other sales guide said no, and asked if he wanted to be put on a list. The guy said he needed one now for a photo shoot, the guide put two and two together and put me on the phone.
Alot of clothing companies use south florida for photo shoots for spring clothing lines and commercials. I get calls all the time, but I do alot of screening before agreeing

I saw that LE on Ebay about 6-8 months back. I'm not sure if it sold there, or how it got to where it is. I was buying mine at the time, but it got a little pricy (ahem).

Hello All,
Let me just say that he is obviously trying to sell #300 for more than I sold it to him for. When it was on ebay originally, the high bid got up to $55K.

If it was parked at the dealer on Sunset one of the rappers would definitely pay the $60K. Prolly put some spinners on it and cruise the strip with the diff lock on.

Matt,
To answer your question, No, we did not sell at $55K. If it wasn't going any higher than that, then we really had no incentive to sell it. It was actually quite a challenge because our dealer principal didn't really want to sell it. He's just another Defender Enthusiast at heart with what was the ultimate collectible Defender, at least here in the states!;)
