What companies make a 17"x8" rim with a 4" backspace? I was going to run the 35" mrts on 15" rims but might go with the 305/70/17's. Has anyone done this setup? This tire measures 34"x12.2"...

Don't do it. A 34 in tire is too small for a 17in wheel. You will only have 8.5in of sidewall, air down and your at 6 or less. Just not enough in my opinion. Stay with what you have right now. The 35in Mtr's only measure 34in anyway.

Randy-
Allied makes them (www.high-impact.net), but I gotta go with David on this one if you're planning on wheeling anything real extreme.

you'll probably be alright on medium and possibly 'hard' trails. (look at the sidewall of a stock D90 tire). but, if you plan on hitting some of the more extreme stuff, you're going to want more sidewall to be able to get a bigger contact patch and maintain some ground clearance given to you by the tires .... unless you're running Simex's... (read: stiff sidewall, no flex);)

why not 37R17s? this is my old 90 with 37x12.5R17s at ~10psi on allied beadlocks....
(FWIW, the 37s MTRs have a much stiffer sidewall than all the other MTRs & can easily be run ~6psi & still maintain a good bit of sidewall)

Thanks Guys... I will stick with the 15"ers unless I decide on the 37's. I just don't want to trim much and I know you have to with the 37's.
