Gas Gauge Possessed

I test drove a D-90 last week and something bizarre was occurring. If I moved the blower control lever to the right of the steering wheel up or down the gas gauge would flicker up and down between empty and where it should be. I wonder if the lever control was knocking some wiring. Anyone heard of this?

Also, are the front seatbelt mechanisms supposed to have a plastic cover or are they just open?

It should have a plastic cover just like any other vehicle. D90 gas gauges are notorious for being innacurate. I head for the pump whenever my needle gets south of 1/2 tank. I almost ran out the day I bought it. The needle was on 1/4 as I was running on fumes. All part of the appeal. :grin
