Galvanized Firewall

I'm wondering if anyone (Randy Kremer) has galvanized their firewall and if so what your thoughts were and if you'd recomend any particular company/person over another.
I've heard it's a very hard thing to do right because the thin sheet metal of the Firewall can be easily damaged if the right precautions aren't taken.
Is it better to stay away from galvanizing this piece? Should I paint it instead?

Anything you can help me with would be great.

Kit, I did mine along with 2 series bulkhead and we had no problems or warping. I would just suggest that you tell them to let the parts air cool and not to quench them in the water dunk tank for a quick cool down. That is how you can get some warking especially with thin parts. I would just find a galv. place as close to you as possible.
You can also bring with you any brackets or other rusty steal parts on your truck.

GALVANIZE IT!

I did mine on the CrewCab, have seen a dozen others, all turned out perfectly.

I hadn't heard about the air-drying, but it makes sense.

If you're down that far and you don't, you're throwing a lot of time and $$$ away.

I would galvanize, I did a S2a after replacing all footwells, skins, and legs. The only thing i had to do was ream out some of the the little holes that got filled in during the process. I think it is cheap insurance, the galvanizer around here charges $100 for up to 500 lbs. You can't beat that
