I’m selling off an accumulated collection of new accessories “in box” and like new pull off accessories for a friend who owns a California independent rover service facility. If you are interested in any of these items contact me directly thru email rather than using PMs or Messages on the board. It will be easier for me to keep sales and inquries organized. Shipping will be at buyers expense. Questions I can’t answer will be forwarded to the shop owner. I can accept bank cashiers check, or US postal money orders for payment. I will update availability of the items on the board. email - bruffett@sbcglobal.net

I don't know the exact years, but you can use a automatic transmission from a Discovery I. My '94 has one out of a '94 Discovery for example. I had it rebuilt and the same transmission is used in BMW cars amongst others too.

The ZF 4HP22 is what was in a disco or range rover from '87 through '95. Wikipedia lists a bunch of vehicles that have used it over time.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZF_4HP22_transmission

If you are talking about converting from a manual to automatic, you'll need to do a bit of work to make it happen. I did not do the conversion on mine, but whomever did it kept it simple and it's pretty clean. They made some custom linkages and the shifter comes up through the stock shifter boot and looks pretty stock. The other route is to get the center consle and shifter from a '97 but thats going to cost you.

Mine doesn't have a switch to prevent you starting it in gear, which you may get by going the '97 route, although I imagine mine could be wired this way.

Oh sorry, I didn't realize Patrick had hijacked this thread.

Len, my apologies.

Patrick, you should start your own thread for unrelated topics. As far as I can tell this has nothing to do with what Len is offering.
