so this car dealer 1 1/2 hours from me has 5 d-90's all 1997 models, all look brand new and all under 40,000 miles. He says he bought them from a dealer in Canada that went out of business. Mind you they are all SW and all have tweed looking seats and all have power windows. Prices are right at 40k. He only has two left and says he originally bought 11 and has sold 9.
It seems awfully fishy to think a dealer had 11 97's under 40k miles and in great condition and that this guy was able to buy them in canada, ship them and still take 40k for them.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance for your help.

According to the web page below, only one 97 d 90 was ever sold in Canada, so I doubt they are CDN NAS spec. Maybe the Canadian dealer imported them from the U.S.

no NAS 1997 90 had tweed seats, if its NAS or legal it will have a number plate on the rear of the passenger side, get those numbers and report back. What motor and gear box do they have?

Power windows? I have a '94 soft top so even roll-up windows seem a bit plush. I have never heard of a NAS '97 that had factory fitted power windows. I know that there are people who have done custom installs.
In this case something "smells wrong". Run away! Run Away!

Somewhere on the web (and I have it bookmarked, but no time to find it now) there is a site with every D90 imported to US (and maybe canada) with VIN/color/sw or st/plate number/who bought it/what mods were done/etc. Get those items from the dealer and you should be able to figure out their origin.
