Agreed having heard one before, and I love it. I am straight piping my diesel conversion on my coiler.

I have a 3in straight pipe. That one had something wrong with it.

why do you say. I heard a 2.8 with a straight pipe once they sounded similar. I think its an awesome noise..

It is an awesome noise, but the one in the video had some sort of turbo whine. It also sounded like the engine was not tuned, perhaps needs the timing tweaked. Mine is much smoother with no whine.

Yeah. I agree with Buck. You sould not hear that much turbo spoolup noise at that low rpm. Either that or it does not have the air cleaner on it which is possible and is also very bad..

He could be running a cone filter on the turbo.

I run a cone filter just off the turbo. There was something funky about that one.

Have you ever listened to yours while standing outside. IME, these straight pipe setups are quiet in the vehicle, but quite noisy if you stand in the direction of the exhaust.

Yes,

I let my friend drive sometimes. And, my pipe dumps before the rear tires at an angle. Add that to no doors, roof, or anything else and I have a very good idea what it sounds like.

The one tdi (2.8) I saw you could hear the turbo pretty well at idle. I dont remember how it sounded under power.
