Well, bad news! I'm not going to the CC. My D90 is having so many problems that I don't think we'll be able to get going. The good part is Frontier Airline gave me a full refund :)

One of the problems is due to the amount of suspension travel the rear trailing arm ear got sheared off not all of it but a good part of it. Now the fuel pump died. I bought the parts but not really comfortable going through airport security with parts in my bag and specially me being a Middle Eastern with one way ticket :(

We'll post pictures when Troy comes back.

well, it was a fun trip. several rovers were unable to come for one reason or another, but we still were able to run a couple of good trails before the fuel pump died.

there'll be more trail pics to follow, but here are a couple of random pics...

Stop showing off and let us see some trail pictures :grin

Randy, just wait till the front is done and you'll see some nice even flex. FYI the truck was able to go over 42 deg. on a side slope with super soft springs. My plan is to have the same suspension travel setup to create a very well balanced truck, and be able to hit 45+ deg with no problem.

...I'm not going to be in the truck when you test that, though. You can thank Tisdale for hopping on the bumper & saving your truck (& me) from being at the bottom of a 700 ft ravine. :grin That was the first time in a couple of years that I actually got 'nervous' on a trail :ohmy

Ohh c'mon. I took it up to 42 deg on my last trail run and felt fine. That 700' must made you scared. Let's finish the suspension and go test it, what you think Troy? :)

Thanks Tis, but you didn't have to do that :grin

yousef-
lets put it this way ... air was seen under the 2 uphill tires; the rear got just barely off the ground & the front was a good foot skyward when tisdale jumped on .... according to the spectators. I was too busy checking my shorts!:grin

its not going to have the same side slope ability with coilovers (barring sway bars, limiting straps, etc) that it used to because there is nothing to stop the uphill springs from totally unloading when the vehicle goes onto steep side slopes, uphills, or downhills.

the same thing happened on a steep downhill on the same trail. one section of the hill was steep enough to let the rear totally unload. it never felt real bad (still puckering, though :ohmy), but those watching got a pretty good show as they thought I was going tail over nose.

that higher rate i was telling you about will help some on the side slopes .... not to mention the longer links, limiting straps and the anti-rock. it'll work well once the other goodies are set-up....
.... then I'll go test it with you. :grin

True, when I did the 42+ deg I was retained in the back, and I totally understand how the coil over will effect this. When I siad "when suspension is done", I wasn't only talking about the coil overs I was also talking about Rover Tracks anti rock system.

I'm telling you when me and Keith are talking you should joint and share the ideas, you are missing a lot man :)

And how about that website, are you ever going to update that thing :)

yeah, i guess i should come by the shop & join in the initial discussion instead of going out and wheeling other people's rigs. :grin

the website is going to get an overhaul here in the next week or so....once I get some pics, everything will be done at once.
