We were talking about Art's cool bumperettes last month and on a trip to Dallas, I picked up a set for myself plus a couple of extra sets. They're $130 (tax included) per set and I'd be happy to bring them along with me to our trail ride in PA on March 26th.

I've fitted them on my truck but haven't installed yet. They're compatible with the stock bumper and will require just a little grinding a bit off one of the supports for the rear crossmember to fit properly. (I think they didn't measure quite right when they laid out the pattern, and shaving about 1/16" should make them line up properly.)

Powdercoated black.

If you're not coming to the PA ride, you may want to give the North Texas Rover guys a call and have them ship directly. They'll charge $130 plus tax (and I'm sure shipping too). I got a little better deal for the large purchase which sorta offset the cost of the sales tax.

(Art, stole your pic....)

Ken, cool! I will take one set and might need a second set. I will find out more if I will need the second set hopefully in the next week or so. How many did you pick up?

Wow, that was quick, Chris.

I have two extra sets, but could pick up more since I've got at least two trips to Dallas in March.

I will take a set. Chris von, would you mind picking them up for me, I will be at Tuckerman's Ravine that weekend?

Ken-

I may want a set. I was thinking of removing my rear step. Would they still work or would they be hanging out pretty far? Thanks

Ok, I think they're spoken for. CVC and Mils.

Stanman, I don't think they will stick out too far without the rear bumper. It's only an inch or so.

Anyone have a source for some protectors for the rear quarter panels?
Mine are getting a bit of a beating and I'd like to try and stop that if possible.

Yeah, ok. Thats one option, but there is no contact info in that thread :(
Its also not exactly what I'm looking for (but it is close).
I'm sure there are other sources? Other options?

Well, I wasnt looking for bumperettes, I was looking for quarter panel protectors. But from what I've read in this maze of threads (thanks for the links Chris and Mike), maybe this really *is* what I should be looking for.

Ken, can you let me know whats involved in getting a set?
tnx

Are you looking for something like this: http://www.qtservices.co.uk/rearcap.htm

BTW, the bumperettes DO protect your quarter panels.

I've seen the following now in my quick search for rear quarter panel protection:

http://www.roverconnection.com/Def%20Acc%20Pix/dfcheckerkit.htm (no idea how these really attach (looks like just riveted to the sheetmetal) and so no idea how strong they really are.

http://www.roverlandproducts.com/scorpionracing/rear_corner_bumpers.html looks good, a bit pricy though. Again, not sure how they attach, but it looks like Arts earlier in this thread, bolting to the cross member so pretty strong. Will they work with the stock NAS rear bumper?

http://www.qtservices.co.uk/rearcap.htm looks like the roverconnection one wrt strength/functionality.

Scott, the Roverland bumperettes are from Scorpion Racing. They require that you remove your NAS rear bumper.

John C.

PS: I know that Ron does not have them in stock. If you want some clearer pics check out : http://www.4x4ag.com/products_lr_d90bumperettes.htm

Scott, sorry that I missed your post. The "Modinator" was keeping his everpresent eye on the board and thumped me for not answering. :uhoh

You can get those bumperettes from North Texas Rover in Dallas for $130. www.northtexasrover.com, I think. You can either bolt on or weld and they're compatible with the rear bumper, too.

Thanks Ken. I'll contact them directly.
When I put the question in, I had no idea who made them, or even if they were still being made

Some guys asked about my bumperettes so I thought I'd bump this thread. Sorry, no delivery offered by me. Call the guys at North Texas Rovers directly.

www.northtexasrover.com

Look higher on the thread and there are references to some other good bumperettes, like the Scorpion ones that JohnC sells.

Hey, what do you guys think of this, it's cheaper and has other uses. Only a rover owner would pay $130 for a small piece of flat steel. :zbling
