Check this out:

Looks like it sold for 25k. Appears to be a used engine swap, but no matter what its still got a fair amount of goodies for the price - roof rack, ARB, winch, snorkel, dual tanks etc.

Did I miss something in the description or does anyone have any derogatory information on it? If not, then I think someone just got a great deal. I predict a flip in the offing.

The only thing that seemed a little off is that they put 83k on the tdi in two years. That is a boat load of driving but it looks like a real nice truck. Maybe keith from rovertracks could tell us more.

Yeah, I thought the mileage looked a little crazy too. Maybe thats why hes selling it...to pay for a kidney transplant!

Man I hope someone besides a flipper picked up that low mileage '94.

I've put almost 60k on my Tdi in 2 years, but it went in new. I'm guessing that this motor was a used unit when it was installed - so god knows how many miles were really on it. I still would have bought this truck if it was for sale 6 months ago.

Not to get too far off subject, but I have never really figured out the POEs. The roof is removable, but you then have to add a full cage?

Jim's right. The engine was installed with estimated 83K on it. I remember the phone calls I got when Keith RT was installing it. It did a tour in Africa and came back to be sold I guess.

A POE is nothing more than a SW top grafted onto a ST truck with no special care taken to make the roll cage fit. The roof is no more removeable than a regular SW roof (except that Rover did you the favor of leaving out the interior trims). Sure it comes off with bolts, but its not exacly designed to go on and off.

Are the SW roofs still available? How much are they worth?

Yeah, SW roofs are in great supply - overseas. complete roof in the US is going to usually sell for north of 2000 including the rear door. POE liftgates are actually series parts and are hard to find in complete condition. So roughly speaking, a cage and a roof sell for about the same price.

Can the POE style tail gate be added instead of the larger one piece cargo door?

Yes, I have my truck set up that way. You of course need a tailgate (which you can set up to either drop down or swing out. A NAS tire carrier helps too.
