It says the rack's made of aluminum - I thought SD racks were all steel?

That's what I thought. I sold the one off my LE and was very worried when it came time to sell that there would be fits about the roof rack not being there...but ended up not being a problem.

Apparently whoever bought it from him had no clue how much it is worth.

Unbelievable.
Not even a weekend goes by and one comes up for sale. I just managed to scrape up parts from all over the country and a complete package cames up for sale. Locally.

Jeromy, since he is only the second bidder, it looks like he must of hit the reserve price, that's probably why it jumped right to $1800.and the bidders are dumb for running the price up way before auction close....but looks like the seller is coming out on all sides.

I've always wanted to learn to weld aluminum, maybe i could build a one off rack...

FYI for anyone looking at the rack on ebay:
I asked if it had a floor installed at one point and it did, but soes not now. Which means that there are holes in the basket part that may have had water in them, which means that it could be a bit rusty. Here is how the seller responded::

Yes –there was a diamond plate ¼” fastened to the rack but in the description the new owner of the vehicle had a use for All the diamond plating –I think for the hood-

And was removed -checked and this plating can be bought at any sheet metal fabrication plant for around $125-175 depending upon the demographics
sorry- you did ask about how it was secured and was screwed down with stainless steep pan head screws no rust to the rack but have a few holes left

Small ones 1/8”


Just for anyone's info. It could potentially have some rusting internally.
