View Full Version : what weight oil is best for diffs & x-fer case?

I'll be replacing the gear lube in my differentials and trasfer case soon. I know there are different weights of oils that can be used. What are the best weights to use for each? (I live in California, so it doesn't get too cold.)

90 WT unless you use Mobile One then your only choice is 75 which is still good. I use regular dino oil in the diffs as I have too change it allot due to water and mud. But I put Mobile One in the T-case.

mobil 1 makes both 75w-90 and 75w-140. Is one bertter than the other?

I have only seen the 75w-90, I have never seen or used the 140.

I use the mobil one hiowever i only have about 500 miles on it.

AMSOIL 75-90. What else would I use, I sell the stuff!
