Blowing wiper/speedo fuse like crazy....help!

My wiper/speedometer fuse blew, and blew, and blew.

I mean, when I install a new one, sparks, a flash of light, and it's gone instantaneously.


what the hell?

Any thoughts? Let me guess. A short somewhere.

If it means anything...my temp adjuster thing is totally stuck. Will not slide up and down at all. This happened all the sudden. a couple day before the fuse blew.

Sounds like something wore a hole thru the insulation on a wire. I would pull of the instrument cluster (total of 4 screws) and take a look behind it. Hope that is at least a direction to head.........

You are right ya got a short. What you need is a ohm meter and ALLOT of patience. If you can disconnect everything from the fuse, put a new fuse in and connect things one at a time until the fuse blows again.

The heater control is a cable thing and something probably got jammed in the linkage.

Unfortunately, I don't have a moment free to get in there and look. It's going to the shop.
