$19k OBO
White, 1994 soft top. 150k miles, but rebuilt engine at 97k miles. It also received a rebuilt Santana lt85 (might have been new, not sure; very rare, strongest LR gearbox ever) and rebuilt t-case about 3k miles ago. Rebuilt engine runs awesome. Transmission works great, but has a loud bearing. I’ve been told its an easy fix b/c these bearings are not pressed in. I also have the original tranny which is good working order. Interior is in good condition, but seat bottoms need recovering. Outside is in good condition, but has few minor dents. Chassis and rear cross member are 100% solid, with minimal surface rust. I just drove it on a 1000 mile trip with absolutely no problems. Previous owner was a mega-enthusiast, and professional rover mechanic who took great care of it, and spared no expense. Can be driven as is, off roaded as is, or get some smaller tires and reinstall the lt77 for use as a daily driver. Not a mint low miler, but a nice solid truck with a lot of $$$ accessories. Looks best when pulled up along side a little j**p at a stop light.
The good:
Engine completely rebuilt at 97k
Santana lt85 transmission, rebuilt lt230, and clutch with only ~3k on them
Yokohama geolander 315/75/R16 M/T tires with ~15k on them… and ride surprisingly well
Rovers North ¾ length stainless steel roof rack with ladder, jack all, shovel and 4 sand ladders, 2 jerry cans, and rear work light
OME/ARB heavy duty suspension
Husky Superwinch w/ remote
Wrap around brush bar
Stainless steel limb raisers
4 Hella 3000s
Raised air intake
Aluminum wing top protectors
NRP Y pipe
Heavy duty steering guard
Heavy duty re-cored radiator
Rear seat in great condition
Water and Oil temp gauges
2 Dixon Bate two jaws
No chassis rust
All synthetic fluids
Service records
Clean title
Bevis and Butthead sticker on rear tub
The bad:
-lt85 bearing, I have been told this was a common problem and an easy fix
-seat bottoms have tears and should be recovered
-exhaust needs replacing (but I have a Borla system ready to go)
-speedo works intermittently (I’ve been told the transducer is to blame and speedo is fine)
-soft top is not in very good shape
Reason for sale:
I started building a series III 88” with coil springs, V8, r380, and lt230 (mmm... basically a defender). Recently I have been thinking about building a defender instead. So, two weeks ago I pulled the trigger and bought this one. I’ve been going back and forth, but this truck is too nice to tear apart, and I either want to sell the d90 and move forward with my series III project, or trade for a more suitable defender to rebuild. I can't afford to, and don't have the space to keep both. For trade or partial trade, I would consider a 95 or 97 d90 with no chassis rust (elsewhere, I don’t care) and a clear title which would be a good candidate for rebuilding… such as, really high miles, blown engine, blown tranny, smelly, etc,… I’m not looking for anything *nice*.
OR… straight up trade for a *mint* low miles 1993 NAS 110.
