FYI Not sure if this the proper place but I just bought a set of Headman headers for the 3.9 on the 94 D 90. They were $170 for a set and really have a nice sound to them.

What part number were they? All I could ever find was ones for the 3.5L

Did they line up with the Y pipe well? Any need to clearance the DS for the steering shaft?

Jonathan:
You might check in to Janspeed headers. They are in the UK, but I think JohnC on this board can get them through Scorpion.

Sorry guys for not getting back to you. I was floating around at Summits site and came across the headers. The applicated listed per talking with the sales rep said for the d90 or 110. I was looking to replace my cats and o2 sensors as they had not been done in over 250,000 on the vehicle. So I had a local shop install them and build a Y pipe with new cats. Did it make much difference, well I think that is arguable and I am no tech, I ended up about even betten doing the headers and Y pipe compared to buying new (that is not taking in to consideration just buying an NRP Y pipe as far as cost goes) My goal were to see if I can get a little more mpgs (which I know if futile to begin with or else why would I buy a 12mpg vehicle). If I drive it not too much on the gas I can get about 14 mpg.
Hope this helps.

Ya the ones from Janspeed are also made to fit the 3.5L engine, but match up with the 3.9L. I actually use the header gaskets for the hedman headers on my 94. I have a set of knock off headers that look just like the hedmans. With the hedmans you will need to weld in 02 bungs and dent one of the driver's side pipes to get the steering shaft to fit. Or you can buy and older non-collapsable steering shaft from a Disco and fit it instead
of denting the pipe.
Only problem with headers and this is with all headers, is that you need to watch the header bolts. They tend to loosen and with the amount of vibration our trucks give out and the aluminum block engine they loosen pretty quickly. You can get some lock washers for the bolts and that seems to help some.
Additionally if you are going to go this route you may think about getting them Jet Hot coated. I have had this done on my 90 headers and on my Corvette headers and it really does keep the engine compartment heat down.

Get the ARP headr bolts and safety wire them. Does anybody make headers for the 4.0 Gems?

Are the exhuast ports that much different on the 4.0 GEMS?
