Hi Guys,

This isn't Defender realted but you have to hear about this deal:

I have a killer deal on a brand new 2004 Cannondale Scalpel 3000 (large) mt.bike. That's not a typo, it's a new 2004. I was told it was never ridden but by the looks of the chain/d'rail/etc, it might have 5 miles on it. For the guys who ride with me, this is the same exact bike that I raced in 2005. The components are insane. This bike retailed for $5000 new, and there are a load of upgrades. I weighed it today on a digital scale, 22.66 pounds. If I didn't just buy a tri-bike I'd have a real hard time sleeping knowing I didn't buy this bike.

It has:
Mavic crossmax wheels
Michelin Comp S Light tiers
XTR Crankset
XRT front D
DT Swiss rear shock
Scram X.0 rear D
Lefty carbon shock
Alien carbon seatpost
Carbon Monkeylite SLhandlebar
Magura hydro brakes with carbon levers
Scram X.0 shifters
Aliante carbon saddle
aluminum rotors
Speedplay pedals
EVERYTHING NEW

The bike was sold at a local bike shop to someone who arranged a payment program with. The payment plan fell thru after a few months, and the bike was never taken. It's been collecting dust for 3 years in a basement!

Any offer of $2000 or more will be considered. Best offer takes it. Here's a chance to get a $5,000 bike for less than 1/2 price!

I personally guarantee that there are no stings attached. I've been a member of The Source for years. I live a "Do Unto Others" life, so no worries dealing with me.

contact me thru email: stephenleblanc@yahoo.com (stephenleblanc@yahoo.com)
To make a serious offer call me at 860-810-6439

If I need to mail this, I'll charge $100 for standard shipping. I'll be professionally packed from my local bike shop.

Thanks for reading!

Steve

I know! It's killing me too... my wife gave me the "no way in hell" eyes last night! we're saving up for a house and I made a deal with her years ago that I'd never sell my Defender, and will always have 1 good snowboard, 1 good road/tri-bike and one good mountain bike. I now have the Cannondale Rush. Not because it's faster....but because it's more comfortable on long rides. 2 years ago I began doing 24hr mountain races. 24hrs on the Scalpel would be wayyyy to painful. The rush is a bit slower and heavier but perfect after about the 5th hour.

Guys, let me say that this bike is nasty oh-my-God-fast. I placed top 3 in most races riding that same bike.

People are calling and writing but no offer yet, so it's still up for grabs. I owed it to the mountain bike gods to put this out to close friends/family and the people at The Source first...if nothing comes of it I'm throwing it on ebay this Sunday with a $1999 reserve.

If I had not jumped on the 29'er gravy train a year ago I would have to seriously consider this....one heck of a deal.

What's a 29'er gravy train? You turned 29 and got relaxed? Nonsense! I'm 34 and going strong....or at least trying too! Lake Placid Ironman is what I'm training for now...I should be all set for July 2009.

no...29'er as in 29 inch mountainbike wheels instead of the normal 26.
