The 4.0 was never offered in the North American market as a manual, only an automatic (1997).
The 3.9 was the engine offered with the 5 speed (1993-1995).
You can tell the 3.9 because it has a distributor (14CUX system) and the 4.0 is distributorless (GEMS system)
If you have a 1995 Defender 90 NAS with a 3.9 and a 5 speed those EFI harnesses have been NLA for quite some time.

Did the 4.0 discoveries with the hybrid 4.0 / 14CUX configuration ever come in a manual transmission version? Would that work for him maybe?

/thank you for answer. do you no the harness is the same for 4.0L aut to 4.0L Man (NLA)? The 4.0 was never offered in the North American market as a manual, only an automatic (1997).

Never heard of those hybrids. My 4.0 is 5-spd and is a GEMS.

Never heard of those hybrids. My 4.0 is 5-spd and is a GEMS.For the moment I have a disco man/trans 4.0L harness. I don't have too many wires that have conficting colors, but the harness's are a little bit diffrent and some colors don't match. Maybe it is better to bypass (neutralize) the alarme on the (ECM):?
Tommorow I will post an image of the wire colors.
