Alloys on D110

This may be blasphemous but are there any technical issues with putting D90 alloys on a D110 ?

I doubt it. All the 110's I see in British catalogs and magazines have the alloys. Go for it, I think they look great on a 110!

As you're probably aware, people like they steel wheels for serious off-roading because they can be welded in the field if damaged, whereas if alloy cracked in the field you'd be SOL.

They won't fit early 110's without mods, but if you're talking nas110 you're fine.

I think there are weight limitations with some of the alloys not being suitable for a fully loaded 110? You can tell whether your 110 axle is suitable for alloys by looking at the end of the wheel stud - it should have a indented line running across it.

NAS110 has a drum braked sals in the rear. While the alloys will fit, the center caps won't.

Right now its a simple list, but I'm working on a website to support 110 owners.

I'm always of mixed opinion about alloys on Defenders anyway. I like them both, but alloys are pretty, and most miles are on the road of course, but I think my tastes run to function over form. There other other practical reasons to run steelies too, like being able to change an axle without taking the wheel off.

The alloys I tryed on my 110 wouldn't come close to working on the rear of the truck.

congrats on the purchase, it looks like its in great shape. I'll be on the lookout for it around Fairfield County (I'm in Stamford). If you need any specialized work done on it, I recommend The Rover Shoppe in Fairfield. They know what they're doing and pricing is pretty reasonable.
