Wicks or Doug,
Were you able to get any pics of your laptop mount. I would like to build a mount, but don't want to reinvent the wheel. If you could post some pics and explain what you used I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Joe

Joe,
I sent pics to Chris --- he was going to put them up on the site. Chris, can you post the pics, maybe just something simple for Joe to get a look at?

If you haven't already, take a look at the Ram Mounts available: (http://www.ram-mount.com/laptopcomp.htm).

Joe,
I've got the Ram mount on my D2 and I've been pretty happy with it. It's a well thought out design, here's a pic of how mine was mounted.

Joe, you might email Dave Marchand. I think he's got a laptop mount too, and you KNOW that if it's mounted in his truck, its well researched and done well.

I have the one with pedistal and adjustable ball. Base piece is bolted through seat box passenger side so it can be positioned for op by pilot or navigator. BUT, I am not happy with it. It flexes too much.

Here is what Doug had sent in. I will do a better write up but here is the basic run down:
Summary of the parts from GPSCity.com
Product: RAM Seat Rail System with 4.63'' Arm and 2.5'' dia. Plate, P/N RAM-160-BU, Item Price: $209.95
Product: RAM Plastic LapTop Computer Tray, P/N RAM-234-3U, Item Price: $44.95
Product: RAM 15'' Flex Arm Lap Top Screen Support, P/N RAM-234-S1U. Item, Price: $10.95
Later, we ordered the trackball mount attachment (we put the velcro that holds the trackball in place) that you see on the right of the tray.
Basically, install is simple -- lift the chair rails, file a bit of aluminum from the seat box (there is a rounded piece of aluminum that curves up to the cubby that needs about a 1/4 inch removed to fit the support under the seat rail so it aligns with the seat rail bolt. I also drilled a little bit out the opening in the RAM mount base to fit more properly), and fit.
Pictures are in the attached .zip file.
(Thanks Doug!)

You might also check out the laptop trays offered by www.capjack.com ,
http://www.capjack.com/catalog/LaptopEZMountSystems.asp?gr=341 will get you to the page with the mounts/trays. It's designed to work with the RAM system.
I found that the slim design works much better in the cab of the 90 than the RAM tray. .02.
