seat lift needed

did a search and have seen that a few of you have made custom seat lifts, I'm 5-9 and a good 1-2" seat lift would be great. Any body have pics or specific directions on how to do this.

1" by 1" hardwood, 2 pieces long enough to go from the front bolt hole on the seat to the back bolt hole on the seat, paint or stain the wood. I also used polyurethane bushings between the seat and the hardwood. You will also need longer bolts. There are only 4 bolts holding the seat down and they are pretty easy to get to. You could also use 1" x 1" steal.

Pick up aluminum spacers at the hardware store, and longer bolts.

use the spacers to lift, or as washers with the wood ?

Just pick up 1 in or 2in square tubing and cut it down to 2in each and put a hole through it. Stronger and safer and better looking than wood and not bootyfab like stacking washers.

The ECR seat sliders let the chair move back another 3 inches. This is REALLY important to both me and my wife. The rails overhang the seat box in the back, giving much more lateral leg room. I think they will only fit an SW, tho.

I used the box section steel method. bolted the steel to the seatbox and the stet to the steel, 1.6 mm -2 mm is plenty strong enough.

Went by my local metal fab shop today and the owner GAVE me 8.5 feet of 1/8th x 1.5" square tubing. I'll be following Quinn's recipe, but might simply cut the forward ends square if I can find suitable caps for the tubes I have.

Time to break out the Sawzall...

thanks for the invite, hadn't looked at the trail section in a while.

I have a place at the jersey shore during the summer, and my primary hobby (surfing) trumps everything when the surfs up. If it looks like no waves for the weekend I'll be there.
