I need a favor... does anyone have a 300Tdi radiator out of a rig or empty in a rig? If someone could remove the fill plug and shine a flashlight straight down to the divider plate between the 1st and 2nd passes i'd appreciate it.

What i need to know is if there is supposed to be a 5/8 to 3/4" perfectly round hole in the plate, or if it's supposed to have a plug in it...

Thanks,
Lyman

thanks Keith. hard to believe there is supposed to be a bypass within the radiator. ultrasound and rodding should get me back to normal.

There is supposed to be a bypass. It is common for me to have them blanked off when recoring a radiator. You can make a washer on a rod that will sit on top of the bypass as well if you are wanting to shut the bypass off. I agree it was a bad design.

after a boil out and flush, the radiator shop found 18 tubes still plugged upon removing an end tank.
they rodded it and put it back together. i'm happy to say that Ol'Blue's temperature doesn't wiaver past 2 needle widths below 1/2 range no matter how hard i flog him.

i didn't have them plug the hole, as i never had a problem before and i didn't want to add another variable to the mix.

thanks for your replies guys, i appreciate it.
