Hi
I'm trying to install my gutter kit but I've run into some weird problems.
I've ordered a genuine LR gutter kit
MUC4043/MUC4042 (horizontal channels)
MTC5429/MTC5428 (Vertical channels)

The first set arrived was not genuine, then I've asked for a second set; a genuine one this time.
Here the differences between the genuine & aftermarket horizontal channels

the aftermarket channel looks pretty much as the one exmoortrim is selling

My concerns with the horizontal channel were solved but I ended up receiving what I think are
4 non genuine vertical channels

again they look exactly as the one exmoortrim is selling

my problem is that the genuine horizontal channel does not match the aftermarket vertical channel...

I've contacted the seller again (who has a very good reputation) but he says he cannot do anything
else for me and swears the vertical channels are genuine; I honestly think he's wrong....

1) I'd like to know from people having the gutter kit what kind of parts you guys got on your D90s
2) how am I supposed to joint the channels? just trimming them with scissors?
3) does anybody know where to buy 2 real genuine vertical channels on line?

thanks
Pat

If it does not come in a genuine box or bag or with a genuine sticker it is not genuine.

Did you speak with Chris at Badger? I assume he was not the person who sold them to you...

Pat,

Call Rovers North to get their opinion as well.

Hmm, I bet they both came from the same supplier, and the only difference is the LR sticker. I know there are detail differences, but those parts could easily have come from the same place and just been made at different times. I bet that kind of part isn't just spit out by a machine, its going to be a combination of stamped parts and hand finishing, so detail differences in the parts just don't surprise me.

The vertical channels didn't come with an LR sticker, bag, box or anything like that...
I've sent an e-mail to RN let see what they say...
I do not agree the genuine and aftermarket come from the same supplier, besides the mechanical differences there is also a completely different galvanized process on those parts, can't you see it?...
Even if they do come from the same supplier, if I bought genuine I should get genuine....

I'd like to find some one that received the gutter kit with genuine stickers and see details of the joint between the vertical and horizontal channels

Thanks
Pat

Yes, I can see all the differences in the parts, but simply think they might be explained by being manufactured in a different batch or on different tools. QC isnt necessarily super-high.

Hopefully someone can help you verify what you want.
