Says it has a salvage title from an engine fire. Looks like it got to the dash based on the new steering wheel. Also has non-original interior. It is about 45 minutes north of me on 476. Never seen it though . . .

Yep, number 280 - a known diesel truck. I don't know much else about the truck, so hopefully, post sale we can get some more info.

It looks like a 110 ECR was trying to sell a while back.

I think he is really trying to talk people out of trying to drive it home because it has not passed state inspection. Like in one of the questions he claimed top speed to be 55-60 mph on flat ground and far less up a hill. I mean I know 300 TDI's are not exactly speed demons but my friend had a 300 TDI in a 110 and he said it would run 75 mph in 5th gear fairly easily.

The truck is not in bad condition at all. It has some samll dings and one dent. All door bottoms are very good except for a small spot on the drivers door. Of course like all Defenders that I have owned the door hardware is rusted. It needs some stuff but I plan on doing quite a bit of work to bring it back as close to new as I can. I will be asking your guys opinions on sevral things as I go. The truck drives quite well. I have only drove it on the side streets and what not around my house, so I am not sure of top speed yet. Motor seems to be very tight. I did not drive it back because I was able to get it shipped for a very low cost, actually lower than I ever could have went and picked it up for. I am very pleased with it and think I will hang on to it for a while. One of the first things that I want to do to it is add A/C. It is very hot and humid here in the south right now so that will be a option that I will have to have.

Got to get it out and drive it today, 80 MPH no problem. I am super stoked about that!

Nice. So what was the problem with getting up your driveway? Just needed the cobwebs blown out?

Actually yhea it really needed to be driven, and when I tried to pull it up my driveway yesterday I had came to a complete stop before going up. Now I relize that I need to get the RPM's up a little higher before going up such a steep incline.
