Anyone with an original eqip. subwoofer?

I am trying to determine how the sub wires into the system (the original system).

I have a 97 with the clarion head unit, CD, amp under passenger seat box (all standard).

I think it just plugs in to the back of the head unit and works kinda like the changer. I think the sub is all intergrated amp etc. etc. etc.
