Might I suggest you introduce yourself on the board somewhere. Who you are, where you are, are you a business, that sort of thing?? People are a little leary of Defender sellers that come out of the blue on this board.

Can't wait until The People's Republic of California allows the 1983 110s to be registered. I won't hold my breadth, I expect it'll be much later than 2013.

Curious as to why wouldn't CA allow 1983 trucks to be registered. Isn't the 25 year old rule a federal law? As long as it can pass a smog test I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to register a 1983 Defender tomorrow.

The unfortunate fact is that states can (and often do) impose restrictions that are above and beyond what the feds require. In CA, a car must be federalized, meaning they have passed crash tests, have catalytic converters, blah blah blah. Plus, CA has a law that cars must be older than 30 years to be exempt from being federalized. However, the cutoff year is 1976, or at least it was the last time I checked http://dmv.ca.gov.

You may be get away with fudging numbers, and I wouldn't condone, suggest or recommend it, but if you're caught, there may be serious consequences. Insurance denying any claim, fines, jail time, left nut, etc, etc.

Easier just to leave California than to make it work.

so.... to answer the above....... all but one of the defenders are in the uk still..... all are right hand drive. the one that is in BC is the pick up.
i am duncan. i have a landscaping business based in england but working all over the world. i have been on the forum a while but not used it much, spent more time on disco web and have been doing and selling diesel engine conversions for years now, shipping them over from the uk.
thought that seeing as global rovers are selling at such high prices i can do better....... so giving it a go :O) i only supply land rovers i would be happy with driving anywhere myself. none of the rovers i sell are rebuilt or pristine, they are usable workhorses..... prices start at $9,000 shipped to the east coast of the usa. i can source any vehicle you want....... and have satisfied customers i can happily put you in touch with in the US

it is best to ask specific questions to my email, duncangrows@hotmail.com as i dont always check the forum every day....... i am also happy to call you in person if you want to leave me a number to get you on adn a suitable time to catch you
