In the front area of my D90 just behind the rad, I started hearing squeeking sounds that corresponds to the belts spinning. Belts are fairly new so I'm thinking bearings? I read somewhere that spraying teflon lube (like ones used on bikes) can quiet things down a bit. Can someone confirm that please? Also, if they are indeed bearings, can someone point me to a part #?
BTW, this only happens when it's raining. On dry days, all is quiet.. (well, quiet in D90 terms :))
Thanks!

You can spray "belt dressing" on the v-belts, I would not recommend this for the single serpentine found on the 4.0ltr v8. This will temporarily quiet the belts and will allow you to pinpoint the noise if it is not a squeaky belt.
A good alternative for the single serpentine is to take a bar of soap and hold it under the spinning belt (be careful!).

You probably just need to tighten the belts up a bit, you can check to see if it is the alt belt by turning on the headlights and the heat as that would cause the squeaking to get worse.

Thanks guys!
Ron, I have the vbelts (94), and have tried the soap solution too. Mike, I will give the "tightening" a shot. I'll post up later if I'm successful or not. What bugs me is, this only happens when it's raining. I do have a garage where the D90 sleeps at night but it's been raining for the past two days here so it's really loud today.

When my belts get wet they sometimes squeak a little.
