RHD to LHD swap & respray

I have taken a surplus RHD US Coast Guard D90 and modified it to be a LHD - removed the spare tire mount from the load space and resprayed it with a single stage Monza red paint. I'll mount the spare on the tallgate when I find the appropriate spare tire. I parked the final project next to a RHD blue D 90 to show a comparison. If I can shrink my dog down I'll stick him on the right front wingtop.

Nicely done! If you have another spare, take the roll cage and covert it into cantrails and c-pillar.

I got the appropriate spare tire mounted on the truck and decided to test out the rig on a run down "Dogs Back" - Its almost like the "Lions back" out in Moab!

I'm in at work @ 6:30 am - off @ 4pm. If I am not in the dark room printing photographs, I am out in the garage bending metal, it I'm not bending metal I'm am working on my customer's websites. If I am not doing any of those things I am out wheeling , taking more Black & White pictures, (old school Hasselblad & negatives) or hunting down fossils. Lets just say I don't play video games, or watch much TV. My next small project is mounting a vintage air craft air speed indicator in the truck. I found a vintage (1942) US Army Air Corp Bendix air speed indicator that actually works. I built a pitot tube - mounted it on the arb bumper - ran tubing up to the driver door and am designing a simple bracket to hold the aircraft instrument down and to the right of the trucks speedo. If I have clean clear air in front of the truck while out driving it is quite accurate and very retro. Ya... I figure it is about as useful as a premium sound system in a defender...and of course it makes my truck look very non stock which is a fashion pho - pah.

Thanks for the complements on the truck... I have been "toying" with the idea of opening a rover restoration shop in the SF bay area to compete directly with ECR .... only my shop will be exclusively working with matchbox defenders...! Just kidding Fidel !!!
