I am interested to find out more about your Defender 110 chasis for my series convertion.

I am about to purchase a 67 11 a 3 door 109 carawagon. The frame is pretty rusty so I am in the market to convert to a 110 with the disc brakes, bigger engine, power steering,etc...

How does the 2.5 engine fit with the indented series grill and nose?

Can you quote the rough estimate of cost on doing the conversion? Where are you located?

the motor will be fine but the rear wheels don't even come close to fitting in the right place when trying to put a 3 door 109 on a D110 chassis.

Here is a picture of my ex mod 109 tub on a 110 chassis. Doesnt look that off does it?

Thanks for your feedback. I actually called you about your defender frame a month ago or so- Good to see you decided to restore your 109. Your project is basically what I am trying to do as well.

I am in the final stages of purchasing the carawagon. I would really like to convert it to a Defender frame and running gear to take out for long camping trips, hwy ready , etc....

Your project info would be very helpful. Are you going to have a project overview posted at anytime? (I know you probably have enough to do)

odd that the one I have seems to be so much further off. It is a MOD 109 on a MOD 110 3 door chassis.

They look about the same it is just that Matt has little baby tires.

The way to make it look better is to run lift springs and, if possible, shorten the trailing arms slightly. Rovertym's arms have spacers which you can omit to get it to be unnoticable.

PS, matt is there any chance the bushing are backwards on your truck?

There is definitely a 3+ inch difference. On my pile, I had to move the axle back almost 2.5 inches to fit into a 110 tub wheel opening. I have a 110 tub on an XMOD 109 chassis. The same is true of the reverse, the axle would have to move forward quite a bit.

Ill take some measurements before i bring the 110 down to you and we can compare and see if there is any difference. It certainly looks like the opening is different on your tub but there is only one way to find out.

No the bushings aren't on backwards....and both that tub and the civvy tub I have look the same no matter which 110 frame of several that I have put them on (I use the fleet of rolling chassis in the yard as parts storage)
