Brake lights not working

Does anyone know if the D90 brake light switch can be exchanged with a different model or parts inter-change?

Mine is out due to water damage of some sort and I just wanted to know what others have done to remedy this problem,...maybe a water proof model of some sort.

Just get a new switch they are readily available and damn simple to replace. Think they are around $30. I think it took less than 10 mins to remove and replace mine last spring. White plastic thing on top of the brake booster bracket. Two wire plug and set the depth nut the same as your old one screw it in and done.
Its fairly common for these to wear out.

It turned out one of the wires was loose on the switch...

Why is it we never check the easy stuff first?
