I want to put on a set of BFG MT/KM 255/85/R16's on my stock alloys.

Do I need to add wheel spacers? How do these effect the overall handling/performance of my truck?

How much of a lift will I need to add these tires.

Thanks,

Joe

If 285s work on stock alloys, the 255/85 should not be a width problem. They are thinner I think.

They are thinner I think.

Yes they are, 255/25= 10.2" wide. 285/25= 11.4" wide.

The BFG MT 255/85/R16's are narrower than the stock BFG AT 265/75/R16's.
You will not need spacers and can even adjust your steering stops to increase your turn ratio so it is better than stock.
The tire is 1.5" taller than stock, so a mild lift is recommended.
