Replacing springs and shocks next weekend, hopefully. What other things should I do as long as I'm under there?

(and NO Hippert, putting 4" lift is NOT an option. :grin)

Wicks had a cool thing recently about the replacement spring pad retaining bolts. I think they're off of a D2 IIRC.

You might want to look into upper and lower spring retainers too. If you do any hard-core off-camber stuff retained springs are superior to cones IMO and this is an easy time to install them.

Ken, are you sticking with the same tires? I would go with a set of OME's Something similar to CVC's setup...

Going with the HD OME setup and same tires, Randy.

Mike, Is this the discussion you were talking about: http://www.d-90.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1548#post10486
I don't do off-camber stuff. Not a lot of big rock formations out here, but plenty of mud. Much of a need for these retainers for "tame" riding?

Ken, sounds nice.. did you get that RW bumper too? Are you getting longer shocks also?

Tame riding? Honestly, no. If your springs never pop out of their perches, then you don't need to retain them.

The spring pads are pretty cool though, and you can't put them in unless you remove the spring. Now is a pretty good time to do that.

Axles, driveshafts, tires and engine.:grin

oh wait thats on my list to do someday.

Retainers you may or may not need them, only going out with your new setup will tell. I didn't put the cones up front until I changed the shocks and the springs kept falling out of there perches.

I just picked up a set of OME springs while at work. Talk about funny looks in the office as I walk through with two boxes of springs. Anyway need any help putting them on?

Tyler, Maybe... I'm doing mine either Sat or Sunday, probably in SoMD. Did you want to do both at the same time? If so, I'll have to see about access to the auto shop for you.

Hmm.. I'm planning on doing mine friday. From what I've been told it should take me about a day. Let me know what day you end up doing it and I'll pitch in if needed.

It took me about an hour per shock to change in the front and that included taking out the spring, I just took the wheel off and dropped the axle to the ground then jacked up on the slider until the spring fell out, oh yeah undo all the bolts on the shock first.

Ken and Tyler -- if you need help or a place to do it, let me know.
