Has anyone repainted there cage? Can you just paint over the powder coat?

Randy,

I had my Brush bar repainted last year. I was told that it would be better to strip it then paint it. There may be an adhesion issue if your respary isn't properly primed. Try a powder coater. They quoted me a good price for stripping and coating. Cheaper than the body shop.

Randy,

The way it was explained to me by Jim(?) at Dr. Stripper, if you don't have any nicks or cuts on the powder coat, you can paint over it as long as you prime it good. However, if you have cuts, nicks, or peeling on the powdercoat, you shouldn't paint over it as chances are you already have some corrosion happening under there that will eventually bubble through the paint.

Hope that helps.

Heck we don't ever get nicks or cuts on our Defenders. Especially on our wheels.
