Taking my 97 D90 in for the 30K service and was wondering about the tranny fluids...I am not clear on everything they do on the 30K service....Me and my dad do most everything to my truck instead of paying the highway robbery that the dealerships want....I have most of the tools in my shop at home that would probably be used, but my question is this....How much work is it to do the 30K service at home instead of paying them to do it.....Also if someone could fill me in on exactly what they do during this service that would be great....I have the paperwork at home but not with me at school....

thanks,

I can fax you the dealer checklist, which curiously is trimmed down from the Passport to Service provided by sOily Hill. Lemme know. Yes, tranny is on there, you should read the passport.

I have transcribed the entire service schedule for a '97 D-90 directly from the owners manual into an Excel spreadsheet. Let me know if any of you want a copy. I'll e-mail it to you.
