Speedometer

1995 D90 with about 82xxx miles. The speedo seems to be reading about 11% fast, and yes I do have the correct rolling diameter tires. I also noticed the needle is very erratic, and shaky at times.

Suggestions? My tire and wheel guy, who is also a mechanic, says that I should lube the cable.

Lubing the cable should help the erratic needle, but it won't stop the over-reading.

Might pay to check that the correct speedo drive gear is in place in the transfer box (i think it's the blue coloured one you need for 235 or 265 tyres)
