FS True Xenon HID Kit for Defender

I have a complete H4 Xenon headlight kit for sale. This is not the BS Xenon bulbs that just plug in, it is a true HID kit complete with Ballasts etc. Plug and play for H4 headlights, perfect for those of you who have already upgraded to the Hella headlights. These guys are bright! I installed them briefly to test and one bulb appears to be bad (turns on for about 10 seconds then flickers and goes out.) Replacement bulbs are available very cheap on Ebay though. Otherwise, it would be perfect for someone with a motorcyle that uses H4 bulbs, or you could buy two H1 bulbs and install it in a pair of Hella off-road lights!

This is a German made kit, true plug and play, only takes about 1/2 hour to install.

without projection lenses wouldn't that be absolutely blinding to oncoming traffic?

Chris, you don't need projection lens', but the euro Hella lights that many of us have upgraded to have a distinct cutoff pattern like a projection lens' and work great with these. Will go down the order. I pm'd JimC because I didn't know if he wanted them, or was just commenting, but on down the line after that.

Actually, there are 2 types of HID bulbs. one for reflectors one for projectors. Sylvania makes a 7" round HID light that is HID low beam (reflector design) and an H3 high beam.
Thats what I have. They are Xenarc headlights.

Now to upgrade the low beam to 55w HID and the same for the high beam!

Well, that kit for the H4 is a xenon low beam and halogen high beam. What I would do is just modify the relay so that the low stays on with the high though because the xenon is so much brighter than the halogen. You can buy a Bi-xenon kit though that is xenon high and low beam. That is what I installed in my 110.

actually on the Xenarc lights the low does stay on when the high comes on

Hmm, on a Defender? Because on defender's, the low beam hot wire is turned off when the high beam 12+ is energized. If so, they must have a diode in there somewhere to keep it on. I have this same kit in a 9006 for my j**p and it stays on, but that is because the j**p has a separate high beam bulb and keeps the low beam energized from the factory.
