I am debating selling my D, but I am wondering if it will get more interest/offers in its stock form or whether I should sell it as is.

What do you guys think?

Sincerely,
Chris Kearney

P.S. It looks like the Safari Gard rig might actually sell. It is at $40,000 and the reserve has been met.

What do you think my piece of Land Rover History, the Chris Kearney flagship, can bring in?

Why are you selling?!

Big Plans Man, Big Plans.

They involve a frame, a body in Holland, and a whole lot of luck. Don't worry Mike, I am not getting out of Land Rovers entirely.

What do you think? Return it to stock or sell it as is?

Unfortunately, the Defender market seems a little soft right now. They are not going for over $20,000 on ebay unless the owner is "on crack" or they are selling a peice of "Land Rover History".

OK, you can sell it as long as you get another one;) . If you don't mind taking off all that you put on it then you could keep the upgraded stuff or sell it separately. You could also just try and sell it as is to see who is interested.

I think it is more appealing to most people in stock form.

Then yo can sell all the goodies on the D-90 source.

I think you will actually get more $ by doing it this way.

That was what I was thinking, but there are some things that can not be returned to stock, such as the heim jointed rear links, and the trimmed wheel arch eyebrows. I suppose I could buy new eyebrows, but is it really worth it?

trimmed wheel arch eyebrows

How hard are they to change? I was thinking of trimming mine as they rub with the chains a little but we could trade as mine are stock and only a little beat up.

I think they just rivet on, but I am not completely sure. I might be interested.

But is there any point to a stock truck with heim-jointed rear links?

I am thinking I might try to sell it as is. I am still torn though. It is tough to give up the truck even if I am going to build another.

I would try and figure out how much the upgraded parts would sell for on there own, and how much you think you could get for a stock D-90 with about the same millage as yours. Then add those two #s and put it up for sale as is at that price. If no one is interested or you don't get the price you would like then return it to stock and part everything out. I think there would be allot less work if you just sell it as is.

I think the price depends on the market and truck condition. I am asking 35 for mine came home to a few messages concerning the truck. I only have 12k on the clock and the only other d-90's in the hood have well over 40 or 90.

Get what you can for it. Ask a high price and be willing to negotiate....

That's a great idea Mike. I think that's probably what I will do. I would love to sell the truck as is.
