Didn't someone say that they were going to see about getting some of those swanky new Wolf grilles?
Just curious what people found out, if anything.

Mike, are you talking about this one (http://www.roverworld.com/images/Expeditions/exp99/exp-008.jpg) from this thread (http://www.d-90.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1496) ?

Ooooh, yuck. No.
I'm talking about the ones used on the military Wolf Defenders.
Here's a link to the EE site. The grill I was curious about is on the front Defender.

Did anyone notice the hopped up 110 in the background? It looks like the 69 camaro around the corner. It is a really charp chort.
I guess that is what the look like when they are not carrying a large machine gun or cannon on top.
Sorry for not being able to offer anything to the discussion. It's late and I should be in bed.

I checked with a couple of UK contacts after I read that thread. The exchange rate really sucks right now but I can get them shipped here for under $200. Not sure exactly how much under until they land. If more than a couple are interested I might be able to get a better price.

Are you talking about the Wolf grille or the grille with the extra lights in them?
I remember that you said something about the grille with the lights, but didn't remember you saying anything about the Wolf.

Michael, sorry for the confusion. The WMIK Wolf grill. I checked on it last week when I read that thread. I remember a couple of guys were interested, maybe it was you and Wicks? (Can't seem to find the thread now). I may get some for stock if it's something that will sell - I think it's cool.
BTW, I have to agree with you on the Italian job - it's almost as tasteless as that RRC Bearmach grill with the built in fog lamps.
Is it grill or grille? :)

So that WMIK Wolf grill is $200 bucks? Seems like a pretty steep price, but I'm a pretty cheap bastard.
:)
I guess it's a grill if you cook on it, it's a grille if it stops bugs from dying on your radiator.

Well, it's not $200 if you happen to live in the UK, it's about 70 quid or less depending on where you get it from. Unfortunately, by the time you convert to dollars and ship it, it's getting close to $200. I may just get one to check it out. I'll let y'all know.
What if you cook bugs on your radiator? Is it a grill then?

Yeah, fair pricing taking into account the exchange rate, shipping and the need to make some kind of a profit would increase the final price, definitely.
Maybe getting one would demonstrate how cool it is or would get us to settle down about nothing.
Get one and tell us how it is!
Hurry!
I'm not a bug grilling expert so I wouldn't know about that.

Steve,
I might be interested if It'll go on the NAS 110 extended build out, which it probably will.

Yes, Cooper that was me interested. I like the fact that its profile is about as slim as physically possible. And it looks cool. And it won't sag like the standard ones. Yes, not the bugeye grill. Yes, grille me some bugs.
I'd have to sell off this swanky Rovers North grille I guess. Shouldn't be a problem. Let me know when they come in. ;)

Hey Doug, I'm not sure about the NAS 110s with that A/C bulge on the front. I don't know exactly how LR pushed the grill out. If they moved the whole assembly forward then there is a chance that it might fit. Where is your truck? I might be able to stop by and take a look. This is how it looks on a Wolf:

(not much call for A/C when you don't have a roof :) )

The final price will be under $200 to D-90 members. I still need to confirm the A/C clearance on NAS vehicles, which I should know this week.

$200 doesn't seem too bad but have any of you looked at these. They sell for around 50 squid and they will ship worldwide. They're stainless steel and come in different painted colors if you want.

I have found two sources for them. www.paddockspares.com. Their part # is PM671 and I think they were 42 quid.
I also found some on ebay. Do a search for the seller bogblue, he has grills and vent covers in all kinds of colors.
50 UK pounds is about $90 USD.
These are becoming popular in the UK as a replacement for the plastic ones and I've even seen a photo of the one on the left with the word "DEFENDER" cut out on the top (looked great). I don't know how these ones would measure up to the Wolf spec grills as I haven't seen either up close, just photos.

Yeah I've talked to the guy and he's presently re-designing a new grille as these are the kinda ghetto first run.

Coop,
After this weekend I'll be able to get a look at the grill area of the 110. The truck will be back at my garage on Tuesday. I'll be back in town Weds and check it out. Have a good one.

Well, it appears that the Wolf grille is a drop-in for the NAS 110 and would fit a NAS 90 without A/C. The 90 that we tried to install it on had the A/C fan. Unfortunately the grille puts pressure on the fan bearing which could cause the fan to stop turning. Not recommended :nono
The sample grille I had was sold to a certain engine-less 110 which should be getting it's 5.0 transplant this week.
I can get as many grilles as demand dictates. I'll post a D-90 special in a few days.

Most of the grilles sold on ebay, paddocks and so on are no original LR Grilles.
Check out this page ;-)

Another coll grille ist the LR Heritage grille. Everybode tries to copy that. I've got one of them on my vehicle:
