Looking to remove stock radio to attach cd changer but do not have the "rods" that you slide into the holes on face of radio to release it. Is there another way to pop it out or do I have to buy the special tool to remove it from the dealer or Clarion vendor?

You dont need a tool, here goes. well at least on my 95 and I am about certain on your 94. right infront for the radio there should be two phillips head screws in this plastic thing (for lack of better word) undo those screws, then take out the plastic cup holder in the console should expose the radio just push the radio and it should all come out. where's the didigal camera when you need one.....................

use nails to stick in the holes to release the catches

Unscrew the screws. That what I did on my 94.

Cool thanks for all your help. I tried removing the top 2 screws that hold the plastic "mount" and then pulling but got no where. I'll try pulling those 2 screws again and removing the cup holder and see if that does the trick.

yeah you should be able to push the radio out from the bottom, if you remove the cupholder.
