I know this is a repost, but means more this year.

To My Democrat Friends,
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wish recipient.

To My Republican Friends,
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and may God bless you!

Awesome!

I dig the winter soltice, you forgot to mention that christmas it was a co-opted pagan holiday that the church took over in an effort to squash pagan ideology and promote their agenda.

Well there is always next year.

I thought it was the Romans that came up with it to give the Empire (Pagens, Jews and Christians) a comon time of celebration.

And what ever happened to quansa? Was that just a passing fad all of the 'cool' people were into for a while?

"Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way."
"What happened to the doll?"
"It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born... A Festivus for the rest of us!"
