First off those of you that know me know I don't drink, but last night on the way home from meeting with a few wheeling friends at a bar I was pulled over for speeding. 2 officers hopped out of the car, the first being a young guy and looking a little nervous (I had the top off and my hands in plain sight so as not to make anyone nervous) walked over to the passenger door and he ask “can I have those” no good evening, no do you know why I pulled you over just "can I have those" (those being the my license and registration in my hand). He came back a second later and gave me the normal routine, and returned to the car along with the other officer.

A few seconds later the other officer comes over and asks if I have been drinking:uhoh . No I only had a Root beer. Now I'm thinking what the heck did I do? She then asks me if I would not mind taking a sobriety test:eek: , she's training the other guy and would like to use me for a demo. Few! I thought for sure I must have done something wrong until that point the way the other officer was nervous and she was asking me about how much I had to drink.

So I got to do the finger to nose thing, walk the line thing, and say the alphabet. I still got a ticket for speeding, but I now know how to give a sobriety test. :grin

Mike,
The least they could have done is let you off on the speeding for your services.:mad

Thats OK. I thought it was fun anyway, I'm not venting I just thought it was a funny story because I never drink yet everyone that I was with had a couple drinks and I was the one pulled over and given a test.

No, I agree. They should have let you off for the speeding ticket.

You should send the police department an itemized invoice and charge them for your time and inconvenience.

Not to mention the 'pain and suffering' you experienced when those who saw you on the side of the road taking the sobriety test took your character into question thinking that you didn't drink.

:rolleyes

Hey I was definitely speeding so I deserved the ticket, I did not have to take the test I was just being nice.

Manch Vegas is Manchester, everyone calls it Manch Vegas because almost once a month the police find some illegal gambling equipment in the back of a bar or Laundromat.
