Odd request here, but does anyone have an nasty genuine roof rack basket laying around collecting leaves, rust or just generally taking up room and being an eyesore you thought you would never get rid of? This might be your chance. :)

I am looking to try a little project this summer and would like to find one of these. Its going to get cut down a bunch so really if 1/2, possibly 2/3rds, of it is OK, I think that would be good enough. Not really looking to spend a lot as this is an experiment and like I said, its going to get cut quite a bit and may just end up like a failed Homer Simpson Patio Grill project (if you saw the episode, you will understand that). :)

Please shoot me an email if you have a beater rack sitting around and lets talk.

Thanks!

Hey Chris,

Sorry to hi jack your thread, but if that same person has the accompanying ladder I would be interested in that for my little project.

Ah only if Chris doesn't need the ladder?

Thanks,
Al

No problem Al, I wont need the rear ladders for what I am doing so maybe this will help both of us.

I want to chop mine too Chris. I was thinking take 2-3" out of all the posts and reweld. Also wouldn't mind bending the sides down so it's open in the front, like a Hannibal...

David M did that, looks real good too from what I can tell fom pictures.

Not what I am doing though which is why the rack does not need to be in good shape. :)
